Tim has been associated with PMC since 2003, and began working full time with the company upon completing the Ocean and Naval Architectural Engineering Program at Memorial University in 2005. Prior to this he had internships at the National Research Council – Institute for Ocean Technology, Robert Allan Ltd., and Det Norske Veritas (DNV). Before that, he worked various seasonal positions on ferries that operate between mainland New Brunswick and his hometown of Grand Manan Island.
In his time with the company, Tim has worked diverse work scopes on various vessel types, primarily involving new vessel design, repairs, retrofits, stability, marine systems, and structural engineering in marine environments. He has been a certified professional engineer with PEGNL since 2008.
DEON DYKE, P. Tech
Vice-President | Senior Technologist
Deon completed the Naval Architecture Technologist program at the Marine Institute in 2004, and joined PMC immediately after. Previously, he spent three years working onboard various local offshore fishing vessels as a fisheries observer.
While at PMC, Deon has become experienced in managing projects related to ship repair, modifications, retrofits, stability, and marine insurance claims. He became a certified professional technologist (P. Tech.) with AETTNL in 2007, and has also since completed the Bachelor of Technology Program at Memorial University.
JOHN SLADE, P. Tech
John has been employed with PMC since 1999, following graduation from the Naval Architecture Technologist program at the Marine Institute. He also has prior experience in the fish processing industry and on various vessels in Placentia Bay.
During his tenure with PMC, John has become primarily involved with various hull and machinery damage/loss surveys, cargo surveys for quantity and damage/loss, tonnage surveys, container damage, condition and appraisal surveys on behalf of owners, underwriters, P and I clubs, and various other local and international clients. He received his certification as a Professional Technologist (P. Tech.) with AETTNL in 2004, as an Internal Auditor in accordance with ISM Code in 2014, and was appointed as a Tonnage Measurer in conformity with the Canada Shipping Act, 2001 in 2017.
AARON MERCER, P. Tech
Aaron joined PMC in 2001 upon completion of the Naval Architecture Technologist program at the Marine Institute. Since that time he has accumulated a diverse array of experience within the marine industry, facilitating projects involving the importation of foreign vessels into Canadian registry, regulatory compliance, stability assessment and analysis, vessel modifications, inspections, and surveying. Aaron received his certification as a Professional Technologist (P. Tech.) with AETTNL in 2004 and was appointed as a Tonnage Measurer in conformity with the Canada Shipping Act, 2001 in 2017.
LOIS BRAGG, B. Sc
Lois joined PMC upon graduating from the Naval Architecture Technology program at the Marine Institute in May 2015, and is both manager of and contributor to a range of ongoing projects. Prior to graduation, she completed a work term with the Wooden Boat Museum of Newfoundland and Labrador. Lois has also held many positions dealing with on-water training for the Sea Cadet Program as a CIC (Cadet Instructor Cadre) Officer.
STEPHEN MULROONEY, P. Eng
Stephen joined PMC in 2016, following an accomplished tenure in the civil service, during which he oversaw the construction of four ro-ro passenger ferries in local and international shipyard settings. He brings thorough experience with the marine regulatory environment, project management, and is a certified ISM Internal Auditor. Stephen is a graduate of the Ocean and Naval Architectural Engineering Program at Memorial University (2006).
BRYAN CONWAY, NA
Brian joined PMC in February 2017, and brings with him four years of design and project mobilization experience in the local offshore industry. He is a graduate of the Diploma of Naval Architecture Technology program at the Marine Institute, and has become active in several types of ongoing projects, including new vessel design, refit/repair scopes of work, and vessel stability.
BILL MAYBEE, P. Eng
Senior Engineer | Technical Advisor
Bill is a co-founder of PMC, and has nearly 40 years of experience in the marine industry, having worked and has worked in shipyard and office settings across Canada as a Hull Surveyor and as a Naval Architect. He has extensive experience in several disciplines, having participated in surveys and design and repair/refit projects on a variety of vessel types for the fishing industries, oil and gas industries, marine transportation and for the marine insurance industry. Projects have been completed on behalf of Classification Societies, Vessel Owners, Underwriters and Ship Builders/Repairers.
